To receive information about applying effectively for a Critical Language
Scholarship write to [log in to unmask] providing your terpmail or umd.edu
email address, and you¹ll be given access to an ELMS resource site including
essay advice, sample successful essays, and program information. The National
Scholarships Office staff also provides – and strongly recommends - essay
reviews by appointment.
Application Deadline: Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at 8 pm Eastern Time.
ELIGIBILITY INFORMATION: Applicants must be: US Citizens; currently enrolled
freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors, or graduate students. A GPA of 3.4 or
higher recommended; all majors are eligible.
PLEASE NOTE: CLS program in Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Persian, and Russian
require one or two years of previous study of these languages for details
