Subject: Undergraduate teaching assistants needed for summer outreach
programs

Description:
The Terp Discovery Program is seeking undergraduate teaching assistants
to help teach summer programs for middle school students. There are three
different programs: Forensic Science (the biology, chemistry, and physics
underlying crime scene investigation), Animal Biology (animal diversity,
behavior, and physiology), and Modern Medicine (biological underpinnings of
disease, diagnosis, and treatment). Undergraduate assistants will assist the
program instructor with teaching and supervision of student activities.

The program runs 9:00 AM ­to 12:30 PM Monday-Friday from July 17 through
July
28. Some prep time during the weeks leading up to the program will also be
required (although the specific days and times are flexible). The pay is
$900.

Applicants must be current undergraduate students at the University of
Maryland majoring in a science discipline. Previous experience teaching or
working with children is helpful but not required. Interested students should
