Subject: ODK National Leadership Honor Society Applications Due Friday! - get
your name on the fountain!

The Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society is one of the most
prestigious leadership honor societies in the country. The University of
Maryland Sigma Circle acknowledges students and faculty who have contributed
to the campus by highlighting leadership and bringing together all phases of
collegiate life. ODK brings together junior, senior, and graduate students
with our most outstanding faculty members, to recognize campus leaders and to
encourage other students to achieve. We seek accomplished leaders in five
areas of campus community life: scholarship; athletics; campus/community
service, social/religious activities, and campus governance; journalism and
the mass media; creative and performing arts. Being inducted into the ODK
Sigma Circle is an acknowledgment that you exemplify what it means to be a
Terp and a leader at UMD. The ODK Sigma Circle fountain on McKeldin Mall
serves as a method to recognize those who are members and inductees since
1927 have had their names inscribed onto the fountain. The ODK Sigma Circle
also provides you with opportunities to network with current members as well
as incredible alumni to grow and improve your own leadership abilities.
Though we do not ask for too much of your time, we participate in service to
give back to our local community.

Applications are currently open for Fall 2022 and we hope that all eligible
juniors, seniors, and graduate students visit to begin the
application process. Applications must be received electronically no later
than 4:00 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2022. Please feel free to email
