Subject: Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE) - UMD Chapter
Committee Positions Open

Description:
The Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE) was founded in November
2007 to help Asian heritage scientific and engineering professionals achieve
their full potential.

The collegiate chapter of SASE at the University of Maryland has been chosen
this upcoming year to host the regional conference in February. This is a
great opportunity to obtain leadership skills, expand your professional
network, build intercollegiate friendships, and to empower others to pursue
STEM related careers.

Available Positions:

1. Programming chair
a) Main point of contact for all speakers and presenters during the
conference
b) Secure workshop speaker’s name, workshop title, workshop topic, and
presentation
c) Ensure the relevance and quality of each speaker’s topic, and the
scheduling of conference

2. Marketing chair
a) Pitch new marketing strategies to promote the conference
b) Responsible for working with the webmaster to timely update promotional
content on our website and all social media account relating to conference.
c) Work closely with the graphic designer to design flyers, facebook ads, and
other printing materials.

3. Internal communications chair/webmaster
a) Creating the conference 2019 website and be the main point of contact
within the committee for updating relevant information onto the website.
b) Ensure that all email communication is up to date and monitored
c) Secure support from fellow on-campus cultural and professional
organizations
