Subject: Off-campus Research Opportunity

Calcium signaling laboratory @ Washington DC VA Medical Center (50 Irving
Street, NW, Wash DC 20422) has openings for Research Volunteer (students) and
Postbac Research Assistant (paid) for recent graduate. This Lab
[] has a long-standing
record of helping UG students/post-bacs to get into Medical/Dental/Pharmacy
and PhD program. Students will get a chance to involve in exciting
multidisciplinary research to acquire skills and knowledge across the field
in Biomedical Science including Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Physiology and
Biomedical Engineering. Such training will trigger the passion in science,
give the students a competitive edge in both academia and industry, and help
them become leaders
in these new emerging research fields. We expect the students to undertake
multi-faceted approaches in problem solving and develop critical skills
applicable for future endeavors. Students will be given opportunities to be
trained in a wide-array of scientific fields, including: cell culture, cell
imaging, immunodetections, microfluidic applications, signal transduction,
electrophysiology and biomolecular analysis.

1. Upperclassmen and recent graduates will be considered. Preference will be
given to students completed relevant courses, including upper-level
chemistry/biochemistry, Physiology/Neurophysiology and Physics courses.
2. Minimum of 12 hour/week. Demonstration of self-motivation, integrity,
responsibility, and initiative in working towards a goal.
