Subject: Career Shuttle: Capitol Hill

Join the University Career Center & The President's Promise on a Career
Shuttle to a Capitol Hill Hearing and debriefing! Thursday, February 12, 2015
• 9:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
This visit is open to all UMD students, but students interested in
Environmental Policy, Science Policy, or policy in general, are particularly
encouraged to attend. We will watch a hearing and receive a debrief of the
hearing from a UMD alum who is a Professional Staff Member on the
Subcommittee on Environment. Additional information will also be shared
about career paths and tips on landing a job on the Hill. Lunch is on your
own, but a cafeteria is nearby.
Space is limited - please RSVP today and reserve 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. for the
site visit. Due to the limited space and the expected high demand for this
trip, we will be enforcing our "no show" policy. Contact Crystal Sehlke
immediately at [log in to unmask] if you register and are unable to attend.
Please plan to meet in the lobby of the University Career Center & The
President's Promise (3100 Hornbake Library, South Wing) by 9:00 a.m. We will
depart promptly by bus and return to campus by 2:30 p.m. You will be asked
to sign a waiver prior to departure and you must be 18 years or older to
consent. Please dress in business casual attire.
Please Note: phones are allowed, but no recording devices or cameras can be
used while the hearing is in progress.

Career Shuttles are supported in part by the Maryland Parents Association
