Subject: Postbac postion at the National Cancer Institute
Description: Determine the causes and consequences of genome instability in
cancers and identify potential therapeutic targets for treatment of cancers.
Human homologs of budding yeast genes that affect the structure and function
of centromeres will be investigated using multiple approaches, including a
colony-picking robot that facilitates genetic screens, finding drug targets
and studying the expression of heterologous genes from human in the yeast
model system. This postbac position at NIH provides a stimulating environment
for training and interactions with investigators studying model organisms and
human biology with state of the art facilities to do gene function studies.
