Dear Terp,

The University of Maryland needs your help and your voice.

Last year, tuition came dangerously close to being raised by more than
10%, due to massive cuts to our funding from the state. But thanks in part
to the efforts of students rallying on this campus and effectively lobbing
legislators, our funding was restored and our tuition spared.

This year, the University System of Maryland faces $20 million dollars in
cuts. Without this investment, we will not be able to move forward with
the programs that are essential for a quality education for students now
and into the future.

FEBRUARY 28: Come to Annapolis to once again defend UMD's future of

-Free Transportation to Annapolis
-Rally in front of the State House with Governor Martin O'Malley!
-Learn how to lobby in Free Lobby Training by experts
-Sit down with individual delegates and state senators to represent the
students of Maryland
-Meet your fellow students from universities around the state
-Get a FREE lunch
-Defend the future of the Terp!

Sign up today!

Buses will leave around 8:30 am and will return to campus 2:30 pm. The
rally with Governor O'Malley will be at 1pm. Notes from the President's
Office excusing your absences will be available upon request.

your voice and why our education is so important. Please register by 2/15
