SUMMER 2008 POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Position Title: College Study Skills Lecturer

Category: Summer Staff (Contractual—Summer Session II)

Responsibilities:
* Team teach a maximum of 3 Supplemental Instruction (SI) classes (study 
skills portion) for 3 different university courses
* Work with 3 Supplemental Instruction tutors/facilitators to implement 
an established study skills curriculum
* Assist students with applying study skills in a lab setting for their 
university course
* Evaluate students’ progress in specific study skills areas
* Attend some lectures for 3 university courses linked to SI
* Maintain records of students’ attendance and progress
* Complete midterm and final evaluations on students
* Participate in extracurricular activities as assigned
* Supervise an evening study session one night per week
* Participate in a week of training, beginning July 7 and culminating in 
the Student Orientation on Saturday, July12, 2008

Qualifications: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree 
preferred; graduate work and teaching experience in study skills and/or 
Supplemental Instruction desirable.

Period of Employment: July 7, 2008 – August 22, 2008

Salary Range: $3000 - $3500 (30-35 hours per week) for seven weeks
