The National Science Foundation Engineering Research Center on Organic
Composite Materials for Structured Organic Composites for
Pharmaceutical, Nutraceutical, and Agrochemical Applications (C-SOC) has
several openings for research associates.

C-SOC is a multi-university research center headquartered at Rutgers
University with Purdue University, New Jersey Institute of Technology
and the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez as core partners. The
center's research mission is to develop a scientific foundation for
optimal design of structured organic composites and develop science; and
engineer methods for designing, scaling, optimizing and controlling
relevant manufacturing processes.

We seek highly motivated individuals with a solid scientific background
in one of the following areas:

1) Particle Technology,

2) Granular Mechanics and Granular Flows

3) Materials Science, with particular focus on soft organic matter

*4) Processing modeling*

*5) Optimization and Control*

Successful candidates should be able work independently, have excellent
communication skills and able to work in collaborative projects. These
abilities should be clearly demonstrated in the applicant's CV. The
research activities are a hybrid of fundamental, academic research and
applied, industrial investigations with strong support from federal,
state and industrial sources.

Interested candidates with background in mathematical modeling and
optimization are encouraged to send their CV to: Marianthi Ierapetritou
