Dear Colleagues,

 

I am pleased to announce a major National Science Foundation workshop entitled "NSF Workshop for Frontiers in Transport Phenomena Research & Education: Energy Systems, Biological Systems, Security, Information Technology & Nanotechnology."  The two-day workshop will be held at the University of Connecticut in Storrs on May 17-18, 2007. We expect a workshop attendance of approximately 300 esteemed researchers and engineers from various disciplines related to transport phenomena. NSF will cover associated expenses - including transportation and hotel for approximately 200 personally-invited guests up to an amount of $750.

Furthermore, there is no registration fee and meals will be provided.

 

Details regarding the workshop are available at www.conferences.uconn.edu/nsfworkshop including a list of the panelists, keynote speakers, a detailed agenda, as well as travel and lodging information. The workshop focus will be on the following strategic topics:

 

·          Sustainable energy systems

·          Biological systems and biotechnology

·          Security

·          Information technology

·          Nanotechnology

·          Education

 

The outcomes for the workshop include a roadmap for frontiers in transport phenomena, and research and educational plans to be disseminated via the open literature and used by funding agencies.
