Process Systems Enterprise (http://www.psenterprise.com) has a vacancy for
a Pre-Sales Consultant based out of its New Jersey office. The successful
candidate will take responsibility for all North American-based Pre-Sales
technical support. This is an exciting role for a PhD qualified Chemical
Engineer with 2-6 years of relevant industrial experience.
Process Systems Enterprise (PSE) is a leading global supplier of advanced
modeling technology and services to the process industries. PSE’s
technology-leading gPROMS® Advanced Process Modeling (APM) software and
ModelCare® Model-Based Innovation (MBI) services are used to generate high-
quality information for decision support in innovation, design and
operations throughout the process industries, in sectors such as chemicals,
energy, pharmaceuticals, food & beverage and minerals and mining. PSE
operates from offices in London (UK; headquarters), Morristown (New Jersey,
US), Cologne (Germany) and Yokohama (Japan). The North American market
accounts for a very significant proportion of PSE’s turnover.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical communication (phone, web and face-to-face) with potential
PSE customers within North America
- Develop prospects into defined opportunities - matching customers’
requirements to PSE’s software and consulting solutions
- Design and execute software evaluation plans
- Develop “proof-of-concept” demonstration projects
- Build customer relationships to help ensure the continued and successful
use of PSE technology
Nature and Scope
- Work as part of US based Sales team
- Travel frequently within North America to visit customer sites in order
to attend meetings and run evaluation workshops
- Lead phone and web meetings to explain PSE technology and solutions
- Host regular web-seminars
- Attend trade shows and conferences
Candidate requirements
- A detailed understanding of mathematical process modeling and a knowledge
of available modeling tools
- (At least) 2 years’ of project-based industrial experience using
mathematical modeling tools (preferably gPROMS, ACM or Dymola)
- A good general understanding of the process industries and chemical
engineering technologies
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; in particular an ability
to explain complex ideas both on paper and in face-to-face meetings is
essential
- An ability to overcome objections, persuade and convince others, think
and react quickly
- A self-motivated outlook
