Gas Symposium in Qatar, 10-12 Jan. 2009: Call for papers

Qatar is currently seeing an enormous boom in investments based on their
natural gas resources,
and their goal is to become the "gas capital of the world". As part of
this, a new conference series is
being launched, and the first will take place in January 2009. The
conference is co-sponsored by
AIChE, GPA and the European Federation of Chemical Engineers.

The focus for the 2009-symposium is liquefied natural gas (LNG), so
contributions in this area are particularly welcome,
but also other application areas are welcome, including:
• Natural Gas processing and treatment
• Gas To Power and water
• Gas To Liquid (GTL)
• Gas To Petrochemicals, including olefins, ammonia and methanol
Emphasis is on the following areas:
• Design, including debottlenecking and retrofitting
• Operation, including plantwide control; process-, supply-chain, and
enterprise-wide optimization
• Process Safety
• Environmental Sustainability, including clean production and efficient
use of natural resources and energy
• Gas Processing Education
• Gas Processing Tools
• Applications and Case studies,
The conference is planned for 11-12 January 2009, with preconference
workshops on LNG and safety on 10 January
and a plant visit to the world's largest LNG plant on 13 January 2009.
