Gas Symposium in Qatar, 10-12 Jan. 2009: Call for papers

Qatar is currently seeing an enormous boom in investments based on their
natural gas resources,
and their goal is to become the "gas capital of the world". As part of
this, a new conference series is
being launched, and the first will take place in January 2009. The
conference is co-sponsored by
AIChE, GPA and the European Federation of Chemical Engineers.

Deadline for abstracts: 14 February 2008
Full paper: June 2008

The focus for the 2009-symposium is liquefied natural gas (LNG), so
contributions in this area are particularly welcome,
but also other application areas are welcome, including:

 Natural Gas processing and treatment
 Gas To Power and water
 Gas To Liquid (GTL)
Gas To Petrochemicals, including olefins, ammonia and methanol

Emphasis is on the following areas:

 Design, including debottlenecking and retrofitting
Operation, including plantwide control; process-, supply-chain, and
enterprise-wide optimization
 Process Safety
Environmental Sustainability, including clean production and efficient
use of natural resources and energy
 Gas Processing Education
 Gas Processing Tools
 Applications and Case studies,

The conference is planned for 11-12 January 2009, with preconference
workshops on LNG and safety on 10 January
and a plant visit to the world's largest LNG plant on 13 January 2009.
