** Request for Conference Proposals - PSE 2012 **
The PSE Executive Committee is currently requesting conference
proposals from potential Asian sponsors of PSE '2012. The purpose of
these series of meetings is to bring together researchers and
practitioners involved in the creation and application of
computational-based methodologies for planning, design, operation,
control and maintenance of chemical processes. The meetings are
international by design, with representation from Asia and the
Pacific, Europe and Africa, and the Americas. The conference,
organized by the Executive Committee of the Process Systems
Engineering Symposium Series, draws its representation from the Asian
Pacific Confederation of Chemical Engineering, the European Federation
of Chemical Engineering, and the Inter-American Confederation of
Chemical Engineering. Previous conferences were held in
Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany (2006), Kunming, P.R.China (2003),
Colorado, USA (2000), Trondheim, Norway (1997), Kyongju, Korea (1994),
Montebello, Canada (1991), Sydney, Australia (1988), Cambridge,
England (1985), and Kyoto, Japan (1982). PSE '09 meeting will take
place in Salvador, Brazil from August,16 to 20, 2009.
For PSE '2012, the conference will move back to an Asian venue
(including the Pacific and Australia) and we look forward to
continuing the high quality of meetings as in the past. While there
is no fixed format to conference proposals, the PSE Executive
Committee needs to consider the following factors in a successful bid:
- important conference themes for PSE
- conference format and mix of invited/contributed presentations
- funding sources and suggested conference fees
- unique characteristics of the proposed program, venue and facility
Conference proposals are welcomed until December 31, 2008. Received
proposals will be considered early in 2009, and proposers of the
winning PSE '2012 bid will be contacted before the PSE '2009 meeting.
