Targeted Drug Delivery to the Human Brain

The Laboratory for Product and Process Design directed by Prof. Andreas
Linninger at the Departments of Chemical Engineering & Bioengineering,
University of Illinois at Chicago, seeks outstanding candidates for a
position as a

Postdoctoral Research Associate

in the area of transport processes in biological systems sponsored by the
National Institute of Health and National Science Foundation. Our research
involves an interdisciplinary collaboration with a team of neurosurgeons and
MRI physicists at the Brain Research Imaging Center (BRIC) University of
Chicago.

The project aims at developing a better understanding of (a) targeted
delivery of drugs to the human brain (b) and intracranial dynamics of blood
and cerebrospinal fluid flow.

More details can be found in the links:

Candidates should demonstrate experience in computational fluid mechanics,
transport processes, and finite elements methods. Special attention will be
given to candidates with demonstrated experience in scientific programming
skills (Object Oriented Languages, Python, Delphi and scientific data
visualization). Know-how with commercial software as well as image
reconstruction tools are a plus. Applications from Applied Mathematics,
Computer Science and other engineering branches are welcome.
The staff appointment, including the University of Illinois benefits, will
be initially offered for a year. Initial salary will be commensurate with
the qualification of the candidate (app. 33,000 - 38,000 US$). Please send
application including a curriculum vitae and a list of three references to:
