Salary Range: $72,000-$79,000 Dependent on Qualifications

This position provides leadership for developing and implementing
procedures and policies.
Primary Responsibilities:
~Directs the operation of the library and other identical instructional
support areas as they involve the College administration, the library,
the media, website, eLearning, tutoring center staff, the Columbia Basin
College faculty and staff and the students;
~Develops and recommends objectives, rules, regulations and policies for
the Columbia Basin College library, media, website, eLearning, and
tutoring centers;
~Explores current developments and innovations in the field of
instructional media, relates those trends in education and communicates
pertinent information to administration, faculty;
~Informs faculty, administration, staff and students of new materials,
techniques and resources in the library, media, and Internet; attends
division meetings and establishes close working relationships with all
departments; organizes and directs in-service training seminars;
~Prepares operating and capital budget requests and administers
expenditures of the annual budget; directs and controls the centralized
processes essential to the selection, acquisition, cataloging and
preparation of materials and equipment; makes recommendations concerning
travel requests
~Oversees the College's Supplemental Instruction Program and ensures the
activities are consistent with the College's mission and the
requirements of the grant and/or funding source(s);
~Directs inventory of books, supplies, equipment and other materials;
~Assumes a major role in the recruitment, selection, direction and
evaluation of all full and part-time library, media, website, and
tutoring staff in accordance with college policies and procedures,
including disciplinary matters, where appropriate;
~Provide status reports on activities within the division as requested
and prepare annual reports to the Vice President for Instruction
reflecting division accomplishments, objectives for the following year,
recommendations and suggestions;
~Plays a major role in planning new library buildings, alterations and
remodeling of existing structures; oversees the facilities growth of the
library with specific responsibility of maintaining a balanced program
of development that complements an expanding curriculum;
~Participates in campus-wide activities and committees and serves on
community, regional and state committees and agencies as requested;
~Participates in local, state and national library activities by
attendance at meetings, work on committees, etc; establishes rapport
with counterparts at other institutions; and other duties as assigned.
