I am writing to invite you to the opening of Researching Roy Orbison: An 
Exhibition of Materials from the Hugo Keesing Collection, a new 
exhibition at the Michelle Smith Performing Arts Library at the 
University of Maryland. The Smith Library has mounted the exhibition to 
memorialize the twentieth anniversary of Orbison’s passing and to 
celebrate the giving by Dr. Keesing, a long-time fan and scholar of 
Orbison’s work.

The opening will take place 6:00 pm on Wednesday, November 19, 2008, in 
the Smith Library’s Piano Room and Gallery. A light reception will 
follow remarks by Dean Desider Vikor and short talks by Professor Kate 
Weber, Dr. Keesing, and myself.
