Howard Leathers, associate professor in the University of Maryland’s College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, will discuss "The World Food Problem: Tackling the Causes of Undernutrition in the Third World," a book he co-wrote with Phillips Foster, on Wednesday, November 19, at 4:30 in McKeldin 6137.
Recognizing that millions of people in the less-developed countries continue to go hungry while there is more than enough food in the world to feed them, the authors of "The World Food Problem" tackle the question of why-and what can be done about it.
The talk is a part of the series "Speaking of Books … Conversations with Campus Authors," organized by the University of Maryland Libraries.
Refreshments will be served. The event is free and open to the public.
