CQ MoneyLine Database Editor: Congressional Quarterly is looking for a
database editor to maintain its online databases on campaign finance and
lobbying activity. The ideal candidate has at least two to three years
professional experience developing and maintaining SQL-type relational
databases (e.g., Oracle or Access) and excellent written and oral English
communication skills. Responsibilities: maintaining databases and data
feeds, monitoring the timeliness and accuracy of automated updates of data:
FEC, IRS, and congressional data, responding to queries from CQ staff and
subscribers regarding the data’s scope and limitations, and assisting IT
staff and data sources to identify and correct inaccurate or incomplete
data. The database editor is also responsible for monitoring legislative
and regulatory changes affecting the information reported by federal
candidates, lobbyists and government officials, the federal laws and
regulations governing them, and for recommending modifications to the
databases to accommodate those changes. Also assists CQ reporters and
editors in conducting database research on campaign finance and lobbying
issues. College degree in related field, attention to detail and a passion
for accuracy are essential. Hill experience, a good understanding of U.S.
government and politics, knowledge of government documents and Web
