On Thursday, April 23, 2009 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, DC/SLA’s
International Relations Committee (IRC) hosts a renowned group of
panelists who will present their perspective on the “International
Dimensions of the Profession: Where Do We Stand?".
Meet the panel:
Lyle Minter is a distinguished librarian now serving as the head of the
Foreign Affairs, Defense and Trade Division for the Congressional
research Service at the Library of Congress.
Barbie Kaiser is a respected Information Resources Management
Consultant who spends many weeks a year working with special librarians
overseas.
Angel Batiste is an Area Specialist in Africa and Middle Eastern
Division of the Library of Congress.
Jane Meyers is the president of the well-known Lubuto Library Project,
working in Zambia. She has been honored by the SLA and hailed across the
library spectrum for culturally sensitive support for AIDS orphans.
The event will take place at the Kiplinger office at Kiplinger
Washington Editors Building; 1729 H Street, NW; 1st Floor; Washington,
