Acquisitions and Electronic Resources Librarian - Walter Reed Army
Institute of Research

co-located with the Naval Medical Research Center, and is the Department
of Defense's largest biomedical research lab, located in Silver Spring,
Maryland. Several overseas labs are served by the Gorgas Memorial
Library as well.
Major Duties of the position:
Work involves the application of theories, principles, techniques of
library and information management. As such, the ability to manage and
deliver electronic content with a mastery of information management and
library automated systems, and with sound problem solving skills is
required. Able to efficiently search a variety of specialized databases
such as Dialog, PubMed, Web of Science to reveal elusive bibliographic
and full text research information in support of human and animal
protocols. Acquires books, journals and electronic resources in all
formats. Writes formal justifications for purchases. Takes acquisition
of a license for electronic content from negotiation to full
implementation. Establishes, organizes, and maintains links to
electronic content with support from specialized software. Manages the
use of government IMPAC credit card. Requires use of superior
analytical, written, organizational and verbal communication skills to
gather data for briefs and reports.
SALARY RANGE: 60,989.00 - 95,026.00 USD per year
