The Government Documents Special Interest Section of the American Association of Law Libraries (GD-SIS) is pleased to announce the availability of the 2009 Veronica Maclay Student Grant. For 2009, the grant winner may apply the grant toward the student registration costs for the AALL Annual Meeting & Conference (July 25-28) and CONELL (Conference of Newer Law Librarians) (July 25), both in Washington, DC, and for associated travel and lodging costs, up to a maximum of $1,000.00.
The grant is available to students currently enrolled in an ALA accredited library and information studies master's program. Preference will be given to LIS students who demonstrate interest in government information and a career in law librarianship.
An application and letter of recommendation from either an LIS faculty member or a member of AALL are required. To apply please visit the GD-SIS web site, at <http://aallnet.org/sis/gd/>.

The American Association of Law Libraries was founded in 1906 to promote and enhance the value of law libraries to the legal and public communities, to foster the profession of law librarianship, and to provide leadership in the field of legal information.
The Government Documents Special Interest Section was established in 1974 to disseminate information on government documents to AALL members, to further the continuing education of law librarians in documents librarianship, to coordinate the activities of law librarians in representing their interests to public and private groups, and to work in cooperation with documents groups in other associations and organizations.
