Fielding Graduate University seeks applicants for a Reference & Instruction
Librarian. This is a full-time twelve-month position in an academic “virtual
library” in a distributed education environment at Fielding Graduate
University in Santa Barbara, CA. It requires occasional travel within the
U.S., including weekends. The work location will be in Fielding’s Santa
Barbara office, though telecommuting from a home office in Southern
California may be considered. The schedule can be flexible if necessary.

This position has responsibility for providing all library reference
services via email, telephone, or other web-based educational tools. This
position is also responsible for providing instructional services to a
geographically dispersed community of faculty and mid-career (mostly
doctoral) students. This will involve creating online tutorials and guides,
giving occasional in-person seminars, and giving seminars using web-based
conferencing software. Experience providing digital reference services and a
background in research in the social and behavioral sciences are desired.
