Salary Range of Position:$21.43 - $24.73
Educational Requirements:Four years of college or the equivalent in
training or experience.
Position Requirements:Two years library experience. One to two years
supervisory experience. Six months working with cash transactions or
bookkeeping experience. One to two years customer service experience.
Familiarity with a library circulation system, such as Voyager. A
proficiency in a wide range of computing skills, computer software,
and hardware. Ability to resolve conflicts, handle stressful and/or
emergency situations, and communicate effectively verbally and in
writing is required. Ability to develop, plan, and implement short and
long-term goals, to make evaluative judgments, and to work without
supervision required after initial training. Ability to develop and
maintain record and statistics-keeping systems and procedures.
Knowledge of circulation and/or resource sharing practices. Ability to
analyze and solve problems. Ability to organize and oversee the
operations of ILL and integrate them into the larger scope of library
user services. Competencies of reliability, integrity, accountability,
diversity appreciation, and effective interpersonal relationships
required for employment at AU. Competencies also required are
attention to detail, collaboration, communication, customer focus,
organizational understanding, planning and organizing, problem
solving, drive for results, flexibility, initiative, coaching, and
collaborative leadership.
Other Skills and Abilities Preferred: Understands and conveys
copyright and interlibrary loan policies. Maintains general awareness
of U.S. and international copyright law at is relates to ILL and
Document Delivery operations. Familiarity with ALADIN catalog and
databases, MyALADIN , and Consortium Loan Service (CLS). Knowledge of
WorldCat Resource Sharing, including procedures for lending, ordering,
creating lending strings, and OCLC’s Interlibrary Loan Fee Management
System. Knowledge of ILLiad ILL Management Software, associated
reports and accounting procedures. Familiarity with Ariel document
delivery system. Ability to understand and implement delivery
management systems as they become available.
Description:Under indirect supervision, provides operational
management of the Interlibrary Loan department, to include planning
and organizing work flow, participating in the development of policy
and procedures, and assisting in long-term needs assessment and goal
planning. Position manages personnel decision including hiring,
training, supervising, scheduling, and preparing payroll for full-time
staff and part-time student assistants, part time budget, and section
records maintenance. In the absence of other Access Services
Coordinators, oversees responsibilities for other Access Services
sections. Enforces library policies in a courteous manner.
