The Office of the Clerk, Office of History and Preservation is
seeking a responsible candidate to support the archival responsibilities
of the office. Under the direction of the Archivist, Office of History
and Preservation, the candidate acts as a liaison to House entities,
including House committees and officers on archiving procedures,
disposition of historical papers and documents, and responding to loan
requests for House records. The candidate also works on the eventual
transfer of House records to the National Archives and Records
Administration.
Experience: Temperament to communicate with a variety of personalities
in a tactful, pleasant and professional manner. Ability to perform the
major duties described above. Ability to work as a member of a team
performing shared duties. A thorough and proven knowledge of the
legislative process is required. High degree of communication, telephone
and computer skills. Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational,
administrative, long range planning and space utilization skills. Ability
to exercise discretion in fulfillment of responsibilities. Bachelor’s
degree and previous archival experience preferred. Must be competent in
the operation of IBM-PC compatibles, multi-tasked oriented and able to
lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
Starting Salary: Up to $52,615.00
