Postdoctoral Position in Dynamic Optimization of Electric Arc Furnace
Operation at McMaster University

The Department of Chemical Engineering, McMaster University, has an opening
for a Postdoctoral Fellow in the area of dynamic optimization of electric
arc furnace operation.  The project will involve elements of dynamic
modeling, parameter estimation, dynamic optimization and control, applied to
industrial electric steelmaking.  The successful applicant will liaise with
an industrial partner, as well as with researchers affiliated to the
McMaster Steel Research Centre (http://mcmasteel.mcmaster.ca) and the
McMaster Advanced Control Consortium (http://www.macc.mcmaster.ca).   The
position is available initially for a period of one year, with the
possibility of renewal.

The candidate should have a PhD in Chemical Engineering, or a related
Engineering discipline, with a strong background in process systems
engineering.

The position is available immediately.  A letter of application together
