This is a Full-Time position, working 1st Shift.

Job Skills/Requirements
Transylvania University is seeking an innovative, enthusiastic
individual who will lead our reference and instruction services and
oversee circulation and interlibrary loan. The successful candidate
will be prepared to apply new ideas and technologies to reference and
instruction within the very personal atmosphere of a small college.
The Public Services Librarian educates students and faculty on the use
of library materials, aids them with research, works to expand the
library's educational and reference efforts and serves as liaison to
selected academic programs.

The position requires a master's degree in library science from an ALA
accredited program and two years of post-MLS, relevant experience. The
preferred qualifications include a demonstrated ability to work well
with students, faculty, and colleagues; experience teaching
course-integrated library instruction; reference expertise; expertise
with electronic information resources and technologies; a commitment
to academic excellence; excellent communication; active participation
in regional and national professional organizations. The ideal
candidate will have the ability and vision to develop a strategic plan
for the growth of reference and instruction. In addition, knowledge of
ILLiad, Endeavor/Voyager, Moodle, Excel, and a basic understanding of
HTML and web building software are a plus. The position requires some
evening and weekend work.
