The USS Rankin Association needs a person to do some simple research at 
the Modern Military Records Branch at Archives II in College Park.
 
We believe that an I-School student can easily do the needed 
work, which involves retrieving Deck Logs from our ship, finding a small 
number of specific pages, and making copies of them. 
 
I've visited the Archives myself on a similar project, so I'm familiar 
with the procedure for retrieving the Deck Logs. I can describe the 
pages we are looking for, though I don't know exactly where they are in 
a given Deck Log. They aren't very hard to find.
 
We think that the total project can be completed in something like 4-6 
hours. There is no rush to complete it, but we'd prefer to have it done 
within a week or two. We will pay $15/hour for the work.
 
This project can be fun, rewarding, and educational for a sharp and 
motivated person. There may be additional work available in the future.
