Company Description:
The World Bank Group (WBG) is comprised of five closely associated 
institutions including the International Bank for Reconstruction and 
Development (IBRD), the International Development Association (IDA), the 
International Finance Corporation (IFC), the Multilateral Investment 
Guarantee Agency (MIGA), and the International Centre for Settlement of 
Investment Disputes (ICSID). Each institution plays a different but 
supportive role in the mission of global poverty reduction and the

Information technology has been integrated into virtually all business 
functions. Over the last ten years, significant investments have been 
made in the IT infrastructure and services to provide a robust and 
reliable foundation that has enabled the Bank’s transformation goals of 
decentralization and integration.

Project Description:
The World Bank is in the process of migrating from home-grown document 
management solutions to a COTS document and records management 
application. More specifically, the organization is preparing to 
implement document and records management in Documentum part of the 
Operational and Knowledge Systems Project (OKSP). The OKSP Project 
focuses on a subset of the World Bank’s content – specifically, the 
Operational documents. The OKSP project presents both opportunities and 
challenges.
· Opportunities:

· Substantial planning, design and configuration work has been done to 
support document and records management in anticipation of this project;
· Key set of quality improvements have been identified and targeted for 
the migration;

· Challenges:

§ The move from a home-grown application to a COTS architecture requires 
rethinking and transformation of basic information architecture components;
§ Information to be migrated has not been actively managed - to achieve 
improvements it will be necessary to track and review corrections, 
transformations, and improvements;
§ A four-stage migration process is envisioned to address the 
improvement, the transformation and the implementation.


Job Description
The OKSP team is looking for a data migration analyst that will act as a 
short-term consultant to support the Operational Document migration 
project for a period of 6 -9 months. The person will perform the 
following tasks:

· Working closely with the technical team and business process teams to 
ensure effective migration process in accordance with business needs;
· Analysis of source system content and metadata reports for the migration;

· Tracking of content inventories through each stage of the migration, 
including staging area, sandbox/test and production environments;

· Monitoring and tracking progress of content throughout the migration 
lifecycle, including detailed review of transformations, improvements, 
and additions unit by unit, for example (a) tracking metadata 
transformations; (b) monitoring the mapping of content from current to 
future folder structures; (c) quality control checks of metadata 
improvements; (d) quality control review of new virtual document 
structures;

· Identify problem content (e.g. content with no metadata, missing 
content, systematic error patterns);
· Preparing mapping and transformation rules from “as is” to “to be” state;
· Documentation of the migration procedures and methods for use in 
subsequent phases.

Qualifications and Experience Required
A successful candidate will bring the following experience and 
qualifications to this task:

· Data Migration experience (must be knowledgeable of migration 
processes and activities with a solid background in establishing best 
practices and processes; must have experience in document migration 
activities in a Documentum environment preferably)
· Knowledge of functional architecture of EDM/ERM applications, standard 
configuration options and solutions; and best practice integration with 
other applications;
· Experience analyzing business requirements and interpreting them for 
EDM/ERM context;
· Experience of testing, executing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and 
creating custom utilities/procedures for the migration.
· Experience of careful execution & creation of migration procedures
· Experience of developing and running reports to understand current 
data and metadata.
· Capacity to work with detailed information and reports for several 
months at a time;
· Experience of creating migration process Documentation and updating 
technical system documentation.
· Experience working closely with technical teams in communicating 
problems and solutions;

Deliverables and Outcomes
· Successfully migration of Operational Files to Documentum;
· Documented IM best practices for sustaining the Documentum application 
in the future;
· Business units successfully transitioned to the new system;
· Sustainable documented migration procedures and methods which can be 
reused for migrating other units to Documentum.
