A postdoctoral position is currently available in the Process Systems Engineering Laboratory at
MIT. The successful candidate will join a team investigating optimal integrated design and
operation of polygeneration (e.g., electricity, liquid fuels, chemicals) from carbonaceous
feedstocks (e.g., coal, biomass) with CO2 capture and sequestration. The project is sponsored by
a major international corporation and the candidate's responsibilities will include frequent
interaction with and reporting to the sponsor.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in chemical engineering (or related area) with expertise in
chemical process modeling, simulation and optimization (mathematical programming), both
steady-state (e.g., Aspen Plus) and dynamic (e.g., Jacobian). Interested applicants should send a
