The Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the University of Coimbra 

(FCTUC) is looking for motivated members of the community to work on the 

Portuguese project PTDC/EQU-ESI/108374/2008, designated:





*“Development of an integrated framework for monitoring and control of 

complex industrial and biologic systems using advanced 

partial-correlation and information-theoretic approaches”*





which has the following characteristics:





*Applicant profile:* PhD in Chemical Engineering, Electric Engineering, 

Computer Science or similar fields.



*Location:* Department of Chemical Engineering of the Faculty of Science 

and Technology of the University of Coimbra.



*Duration:* 12 months.



*Renewal:* It could be renewable for up to 36 months.



*Financial conditions:* The amount of the grant is 1.495€, paid monthly 

at the end of the month by bank transfer. This amount is increased by 

the voluntary social security in case the candidate elects this 

possibility, as well as personal accidents insurance.





*The successful candidate should preferably have a background or 

experience gathered in some of the following fields: Process Supervision 

and Control, Chemometrics/Multivariate Statistics. The ideal candidate 

should also present good programming, communication and English skills, 

as well as enjoy working in a multidisciplinary environment.*





*Selection Criteria:*



i) Adequacy of the profile and merit of the candidate to the necessities 

of the project;



ii) Prior experience in areas directly related with the working plan;



iii) Motivation, autonomy and entrepreneur spirit;



iv) Verification of preferential conditions;



v) Interview.
