{This message is being resent because of problems earlier this week with
Praxair's online resume submittal system.}

Praxair is currently looking for advanced process control engineers to
join it's R&D staff. The primary duty is to develop and assess advanced
process control technology for Praxair’s air separation and hydrogen
plants, including model predictive control, real time optimization and
related technologies. The associate will have the opportunity to make a
significant global impact to Praxair’s business and push the boundaries of
control and optimization application development. They will be involved in
technology development programs from concept initiation through
commercialization, and be expected to work closely with the Operations,
Engineering and Business organizations globally. As a result, they will be
required to develop a credible business case for new technology programs,
actively participate in the technical development, and lead multi-
disciplinary project execution teams. They will also be expected to stay
abreast of new technology developments in their field of expertise, and
actively contribute ideas for new R&D programs. They will also manage
partnerships and development programs with external vendors and academia.

The ideal candidate will have a PhD degree in Chemical Engineering with a
specialization in advanced process control and optimization. They should
also have at least five years of industrial experience in applying
advanced process control technology in an industrial setting. Outstanding
candidates with less industrial experience will also be considered.
Related background in statistical process control and data mining is also
valuable. The candidate should not only exhibit technical excellence, but
be able to champion new ideas and technology within Praxair. To do this
effectively, the candidate needs to demonstrate high levels of enthusiasm
and leadership capability, strong verbal and written communication skills,
a team-oriented focus, and an ability to find innovative technical
solutions that best meet the needs of the customer. The candidate should
be willing to travel globally, and be comfortable in interfacing with
people from a variety of cultures and business backgrounds.

Interested candidates can apply under the "Careers" section at
www.praxair.com, job ID 1000771.
