Global Health Governance - the Scholarly Journal for the New Health Security Paradigm, is looking for talented and enthusiastic students and recent graduates to join our editorial staff.
What is Global Health Governance?
Global Health Governance is an open access, peer-reviewed, online journal that provides a platform for academics and practitioners to explore global health issues and their implications for governance and security at national and international levels. The journal provides interdisciplinary analyses and a vigorous exchange of perspectives that are essential to the understanding of the nature of global health challenges and the strategies aimed at their solution.
Our advisory board is made of up some of the most influential thinkers and policymakers in global health and includes Pulitzer prize winning author and Senior Fellow at Council on Foreign Relations, Laurie Garrett; Director of Global Health Security Center at Chatham House, David Heymann; and Senior Vice President and Director of Global Health Policy Center at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), J. Stephen Morrison, among many others.
Michel Sidibé (UNAIDS Executive Director) and Kent Buse (UNAIDS Senior Advisor) serve as guest editors of our upcoming special issue, “Global Health Governance and the AIDS Response.”
The Position: Associate/Assistant Editor
Associate/Assistant editors assist the editor with a wide variety of tasks involved in the production of the journal.
Responsibilities can include:
* Copy Editing
* Source Editing
* Fact Checking
* Marketing and Outreach
Qualifications:
* Strong Academic Background
* Demonstrated Interest in Global Health and/or Governance Issues
* Editing and Research Experience
* Administrative Experience
Requirements
* Current student or recent (within 2 years) graduate
* Able to commit 1 hour per week regularly; 4 hour per week in month before publication (November for the Fall 2010 issue)
