Faculty Research Assistant – This is a full time position as lab manager in the Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics Department, with a mid-May start date. Primary responsibilities include general organization and upkeep of the lab consisting of autoclaving and disposing of biohazardous waste, washing of glassware, maintaining equipment, placing orders and stocking the lab. The job also involves keeping a detailed record of chemicals and reagents, and some basic accounting. In addition, the faculty research assistant will be responsible for ensuring that the laboratory is up to date and compliant with all environmental safety and animal use regulations. Beyond these primary duties, the research assistant will also be expected to assist researchers in the laboratory with their experimental work, as time allows.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a scientific field. Organizational skills are very important, and experience working as a manager will be advantageous.
