Join us in celebrating the UMD Gamer Symphony Orchestra's fifth anniversary
at our spring concert! The concert will take place on May 7th, at 3 p.m. at
the Dekelboum Concert Hall in the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center.
Doors will open at 2:30pm. The previous concert in December overfilled the
concert hall (1,170 seats), so be sure to get there early! The event is
family friendly and free to the public.
The GSO is an entirely student-run group of more than 120 musicians,
including a 40 piece chorus. We are the first collegiate level ensemble to
draw our repertoire exclusively from the soundtracks of videogames. At the
concert, you can expect to hear favorites from “Warcraft II", “Phoenix
Wright: Ace Attorney”, “Portal”, and others. All of our music is arranged by
our own members.
Joining us on stage will be guest performer and videogame composer Mark
Cromer of Big Huge Games. Grant Kirkhope, who has composed such classics as
GoldenEye 007, Donkey Kong 64 and Banjo-Kazooie, is also confirmed to be
attending.
We hope to see you there!
