The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) invite students to an exciting event to celebrate the signing of a formal agreement between the two agencies. The agreement will promote collaboration that can lead to science and technology solutions to address international development challenges in areas such as global health, climate change, food security, disaster mitigation and response, biodiversity conservation, and environmental management for sustainable development.
The event will take place at the NASA HQ (300 E St. SW Washington, DC) Auditorium on Monday, April 25, 2011, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Former astronaut and Associate Administrator of Education at NASA, Mr. Leland Melvin will act as the Master of Ceremonies and both Administrators will make remarks and answer questions from the audience. The event will also feature technical presentations on the SERVIR program (http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/servir/index.html) and the LAUNCH program (http://www.launch.org/), respectively.
