IFAC Conference on Advances in PID Control

28-30 March 2012, Brescia, Italy

http://pid12.ing.unibs.it

------------------------------------------------------------------

OVERVIEW:

Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controllers are undoubtedly the most
employed controllers in industry. The last meeting dedicated to PID controllers
has been organised by IFAC in 2000 in Terrassa (Spain). The conference has been
a great success and it has given a significant impulse in the research in PID
controllers, as witnessed by the large number of papers published in the last
ten years on this subject.
The IFAC Conference on Advances in PID Controllers aims at gathering academic
and industrial experts in the field in order to present the recent research
developments in the design of PID controllers. In addition to provide the
current state-of-the-art in the field, the meeting aims at providing a
perspective of the future requirements for PID controllers in industry.

Topics of interest for this conference include:

 • PID tuning and automatic tuning methodologies
 • PID-based control structures
 • Applications of PID control
 • Industrial products for PID control design
 • Adaptive and robust PID control
 • Multivariable PID control
 • Identification methods for PID control design
 • Stabilising PID parameters
 • Event-based PID control
 • Fractional-order PID controllers
 • PID control performance assessment
 • CACSD tools for PID control design
 • PID control education
 • Fault detection techniques for PID control
 • Nonlinear PID control

VENUE
The PID'12 Conference will take place in Brescia, Italy. The city of Brescia is
placed in the Northern of Italy, close to a number of important airports
(Milano,
Bergamo, Verona, Venezia, Bologna) easily connected to the city.
Thanks to its specific geographical position, Brescia has always been in
contact with several populations and was influenced by their different cultures.
It is this multicultural element that surprises visitors and makes them want to
come back. Brescia City of Art is a continuous discovery. Around the Roman
Temple stands the largest archaeological site in northern Italy.
Every street abounds in historical buildings, that were built in different
ages but
whose styles combine to create a harmonious whole.
The beautiful Santa Giulia Monastery houses the City Museum, an extraordinary
collection of precious objects from pre-history to the 19th century.
