Cureveda has an immediate opening for the position of Research Associate. The research associate will work with a team of high performance innovative scientists with the goal of screening and developing drugs for treatment of respiratory diseases, particularly COPD. The candidate will be primarily responsible for screening, testing and developing potential lead compounds in animal models (mice and rat).



Responsibilities:



1)    Administration of test compound and  evaluating antioxidant, ant-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties of the test compounds in the lungs of  mice or rats

2)    Evaluating the test compounds in animal models of COPD by assessing lung injury by various ex vivo cell based assays, microscopy assay, histopathological and biochemical assays.

3)    Gene expression analysis (isolation of RNA and qRT-PCR).

4)    Routine cell culture activities.

5)    Working independently to design and execute research projects.



Requirements:

*         Bachelors or Masters Degree in Life Sciences or related discipline plus 1-2 years of related laboratory experience.


*         Experience with small laboratory animal (mice and rats) research preferably in lung biology.
