The Missile Defense Agency’s positions for entry level engineers and applied mathematicians I informed you about in my June e-mail are still in the works and we still anticipate making the hire.
The hire has been split into two groups. The current plan is to hire 35 entry level positions to start in January 2012. This means candidates with bachelor and master degrees conferred before 31 Dec 2011 will be eligible to apply. We are anticipating opening the announcements (for a very short period of less than 7 days) on www.USAJobs.gov in the beginning around October 1, 2011. This means that candidates will only have a very short time to make application. My advice to candidates would be to set up a USA Jobs account now and upload your resume, and transcripts to be stored on the site. Setting it up is free and will allow the candidates to take their time and review their resume to assure that the resume contains everything requested in the announcement once it comes out.
We anticipate the second group of 35 will be a June 2012 hire. This means candidates with bachelor and master degrees conferred before 31 May 2012 will be eligible to apply. We will most likely have an announcement for this in the spring (date to be determined).
Since we are awaiting the formal word to move on this hire, I can only tell you what the current plan is as of today. As soon as I have a link to the site on USA Jobs, I will post it at www.MDACareers.com at the “Entry Level /Career Development” tab. I recommend candidates start checking that tab around the first of October so they will not miss the posting. Also, a USA Jobs search can also be set up to deliver all Missile Defense Agency jobs to your e-mail which will minimize any chance of missing the posting.
