ExxonMobil's Corporate Strategic Research has an immediate opening for a 
full-time staff position in process control within our Complex Systems 
Science Section. The laboratory is located 50 miles from New York City in 
scenic western New Jersey.

We are looking for a creative and resourceful individual to join a dynamic 
group of scientists to conduct research on theory, algorithms, and 
implementation of systems that enable automation, monitoring, diagnosis 
and fast decision-making of engineering processes within ExxonMobil to 
ensure safe and highly efficient operations. The candidate will work at 
the interface of control theory, statistical data analysis, optimization 
and computing with a focus on control applications. 

The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering, 
Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics or 
related scientific discipline, with a strong understanding of linear and 
non-linear control, optimization, decision-making under uncertainty and 
related methods. Knowledge of process modeling and optimization based 
decision making of large-scale systems is required. Experience in high 
performance computing is highly desirable. The candidate should also have 
strong communication skills with an ability to interact with a variety of 
researchers and business partners in different disciplines. The candidate 
should also have a desire and ability to grow into new science areas and 
learn new skills.
