The University Senate is one of the largest and most influential governing bodies at the University of Maryland. The Senate is composed of faculty, staff, students, and administrators. The primary function of the Senate is to advise the University President on virtually all campus policy matters and concerns. Typically, there are 9-10 Senate meetings per year where major campus issues are debated and voted on. This is your opportunity to ensure that your constituency has a voice in the University governance process. For more information about the Senate, please visit the Senate website: http://www.senate.umd.edu<http://www.senate.umd.edu/>.
If you have additional questions, or any technical problems with the election system, please contact the Senate Office at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> or 301.405.5805. We welcome your participation in the University Senate and thank you for your support of shared governance at UMD.
