Believe it or not, it's time to pass the ALA@UMD torch! 

Have you enjoyed our programming this year? Maybe you stopped by one of our many workshops or discussions on Shady Grove or College Park campuses, or joined us for a tour of the Navy Library or Folgers Shakespeare Library ... and maybe you have even more ideas for next year!  Join the executive board of the ALA Student Chapter at the University of Maryland in 2012-2013 to help create quality professional and social programming for your fellow classmates, while networking and having fun. We have over 70 members and counting ... help us grow and connect to our community! 

In order to run, please nominate yourself no later than Wednesday, May 9th  by submitting a statement of interest (no more than 250 words, please) to [log in to unmask] You must be a member of ALA and a student at the University of Maryland's College of Information Studies to serve on the executive board. Students from the Shady Grove and online programs are also encouraged to run. Elections will be held via Survey Monkey beginning Monday, May 12th. 

Each of us has found this to be a very rewarding opportunity, and we'd be happy to talk to you about our experiences if you have any questions. Thank you and good luck!
