Hello iSchool Community:
Lyndsay Bratton, 2012 MLS graduate and PhD student of the Art Department, through her supervisory position in the Art Library and Independent Study work this semester, curated the exhibition: "Feminized Modernity: Dressing Vienna circa 1900." Having just presented a paper at the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s Symposium on the History of Art in March 2012, Lyndsay decided to use the same paper as the topic of the exhibit. The exhibit displays library books open to pages of images presented in the talk, and excerpts of the paper provide contextual information throughout the exhibit. It is a great example of the use of library collections in an exhibition, public program, or outreach activity, showcasing a library's collection on a specific research topic, with almost no budget.
Now that the semester is over, take a stroll over to the Art Library and check it out!
Best,
Mary Choquette
