Learn about the KNOWLES SCIENCE TEACHING FELLOWSHIP, the nation©ös premier
award for students committed to a career as a high school MATH or SCIENCE
teacher! The deadline to apply is OCTOBER 15, 2013.
THE AWARD: KSTF Teaching Fellowships combine extensive financial and
professional support. The total award for each Fellow is valued at nearly
$150,000 over the course of the five-year Fellowship. Fellows receive
tuition assistance while participating in a teacher credentialing program,
monthly stipends, and grants for professional development and teaching
materials.
WHO SHOULD APPLY: KSTF Teaching Fellows candidates are individuals
majoring in math or science, with a strong academic record (GPA of 3.7 or
higher recommended), who demonstrate a commitment to teaching high school
mathematics, physical sciences or biological sciences in the United
States. An ideal candidate can demonstrate leadership and achievement in
past endeavors, has experience with adolescents and/or teaching, and can
articulate his/her motivation for becoming a teacher. The fellowship is
not intended to support individuals who are pursuing teaching on a
temporary basis, as a stepping stone to another career or as a second
career. US citizenship is NOT required but candidates must plan to work as
high school math or science teachers in the United States.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: Applications are due by OCTOBER 15, 2013. All
applications for the KSTF Teaching Fellowship must be submitted online.
The application requires three essays, a copy of your resume or curriculum
vitae, three letters of recommendation and official transcripts for all
post-secondary coursework.
