We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic undergraduates interested in
helping us teach General Microbiology (BSCI223) or Principles of
Microbiology (BSCI283).
Check out: BSCI348A = Microbiology Teaching Practicum
UTA's from previous years found this to be a valuable experience for many
reasons.
STUDENTS IN BSCI348A:
*earn 3 credits that can be used to fulfill the enrichment credit
requirement for all Biological Sciences Majors;
*work closely with a Graduate Teaching Assistant in a BSCI223 or BSCI283 lab
section to help students learn microbiology;
*work with faculty to develop and implement new teaching strategies.

In your email provide:
* a brief statement describing why you would like to be a UTA and why you
think you will be good at it,
* lab sections offered in the spring that you could attend (check the
schedule of classes)
* your gpa,
* the list of BSCI courses that you have completed (or are enrolled in),.
SELECTION PROCESS:
*Students must have completed BSCI223 or BSCI283 with a grade of A or B and
overall gpa of >3.0
*Preference given to: 3rd and 4th-year students with a strong desire to
develop communication skills and knowledge of microbiology.
