The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has numerous paid internship
opportunities currently available for recent graduates (within 5 years) both
locally and around the country including NC, MI, OH, and more, managed
through the Oak Ridge Institute of Science and Education (ORISE).
Each opportunity has different qualification requirements, but there are an
array of opportunities for recent graduates with bachelors, masters, and/or
doctoral degrees. These positions are generally full-time one year
appointments that may be extended beyond one year, subject to availability of
funds.

Greenhouse Gas Data System Development and Dissemination (Office of Air and
Radiation)
Animal Feedlot Operations Program Development (Office of Water)
Analytical Chemistry for Evaluation of Clean Water Act Analytical Methods
(Office of Water)
Microarray Research of Pathogenic Bacteria (Office of Water)
Drinking Water Source Protection (Office of Water)
Web Management Information System Project (Office of Water)
The program is open to all qualified individuals without regard to race, sex,
religion, color, age, physical or mental disability, national origin, or
status as a Vietnam era or disabled veteran. U.S. citizenship or lawful
permanent resident status is preferred (but can also hold an appropriate visa
status, however, an H1B visa is not appropriate). The intern must show proof
of health and medical insurance. The intern does not become an EPA employee.
