A PhD position is available in the 2014 Fall in the Computational Systems
Biology Lab at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Villanova University,
PA, USA. The theme of the PhD research is to investigate the complex
interaction among the components involved in the biological systems, with
the ultimate goal to manipulate microbial metabolism of pathogens in
biofilms, to produce biofuels in microbial fuel cells, and to engineer
microorganism for the production of DNA plasmids for gene therapy and DNA
vaccine.  

The applicant should have a BS or MS degree in Chemical Engineering or
relevant disciplines. Experience in mathematical modeling and programming
will be considered as an advantage. The appointment has a duration of 4
years based upon good performance. International applicants need to provide
GRE and TOEFL scores.
