There are four postdoctoral openings in the group of
Professor Maravelias in the Department of Chemical and
Biological Engineering at the University of Wisconsin -
Madison. 

All positions are in the broad area of renewable energy
systems design, analysis, and optimization. Specific systems
under study include: (1) biomass pretreatment technologies,
(2) catalytic strategies for upgrading biomass-derived
intermediates to fuels & chemicals, (3) processes for the
biological production of value added chemicals, and (4)
concentrated solar power. 

The candidate is expected to have a PhD degree in Chemical
Engineering and specifically in the area of Process Systems
Engineering. Previous experience with process simulation,
synthesis, analysis, and optimization, including familiarity
with simulation and optimization software is required.
Candidates with strong background in process synthesis and
mathematical programming will be preferred.
