Job Responsibilities

The job responsibilities for this faculty position include contributing to
Engineering Research Center (ERC) on Structured Organic Particulate System
(C-SOPS) research mission through project management, grant writing,
manuscript preparation and scientific study and control of continuous tablet
manufacturing process. The candidate must be highly experienced in the 
design and implementation of the control system for continuous tablet
manufacturing process. The applicant is expected to develop the control
relevant process model of the continuous tablet manufacturing process,
design the control system and implement the control system into the
pilot-plant. 

With support and mentorship, the applicant is expected to develop his/her
own extramurally funded internationally recognized research program that
would provide support, research opportunities and guidance for graduate
students seeking doctoral degrees. The candidate is expected to work closely
with two or more faculty members affiliated with the ERC and to establish
long-term external funding. The main task will be to conduct research,
including scientific publications, capacity building and knowledge
management within the pharmaceutical field. Emphasis will be laid on
mentoring and supervising undergraduate, masters and doctoral students,
designing, coordinating and directing the research projects with an active
participation in article writing, report writing, assisting with grant
proposal writing and preparation, and providing research support to various
projects. The job involves managing and undertaking technology developmental
projects specializing in modelling and control of continuous pharmaceutical
manufacturing process. The candidate is expected to have a PhD in Chemical
Engineering or related areas with several years of postdoctoral experience.
