Positions Available



The Engineering and Technology Department has one intern opening for 

interns in the areas of Advanced Process Controls 



Interns at the SunCoke E&T Department gain experience with practical, hands-

on work on real-world engineering projects that have significant financial 

impact. These positions work on project teams as well as individual 

assignments while working in a dynamic and energetic team of talented 

engineers and science professionals. Some positions offer the opportunity 

of substantial in-field work. The positions provide opportunities to 

present before upper executives.







Descriptions/Duties



Process Controls Optimization Engineering



This position is a mix of field engineering and programming with the 

possibility of 30%-50% travel to the domestic coke plants. The role of the 

controls optimization engineer is to study and optimize the batch process 

control system for coke ovens. The work will include field data gathering, 

data analysis, control system design and vendor selection







Requirements: Pursuing an Engineering graduate degree in the area of 

process control. Proficiency in Excel required. Proficiency in Matlab or 

other control simulation software is helpful. 







   



Location 



This position would be based out of the SunCoke Lisle, Il offices located 

at 1011 Warrenville Road. Travel to our domestic plants in Indiana, Ohio, 

Virginia, and Illinois would be a requirement.
